Garbage Pick Up
Lynden township does not provide general trash services.
Residents are free to contract with the many refuse companies that service the area.
Brush / Yard Waste
The township does not provide pick up or a drop-off site for brush, leaves and yard waste. If you are unable to compost or dispose of yard waste on your property, you can haul it to a provider or arrange for pick up. The following companies are available to provide (fee-based) yard waste service in the township:
- Jeff Storms (Stormy Landscaping) 320-248-4106 (Jeff is a township resident.)
- Tom Kraemer, Inc. 320-685-8226
- Henkemeyer Landfill 320-252-6487
The City of St. Cloud allows non-residents to drop yard waste at their compost site for an annual fee.
Tri County Organics is another drop-off option with unlimited use for an annual fee: Tri County Organics
Please note it is illegal to deposit brush, yard clippings, etc. (and snow) in the Township’s right-of-way.
Household Hazardous Waste
Stearns County has a Household Hazardous Waste Facility where County residents can drop unwanted household items (paint, stain, pesticides, chemicals, etc.) free of charge. Items also are available to residents to reuse for free.
Electronic Waste (E-Waste)
Stearns County Household Hazardous Waste program takes a variety of household items for electronics recycling. Please visit the Stearns County E-Waste Recycling website for more information.
Oil Recycling
Free self-service 24/7 oil recycling is available at numerous East Side Oil Co. locations in St. Augusta by RHL, in Clear Lake and in the St. Cloud area. Find the closest location and directions by clicking on the icons on this map.
Township Clean Up
This year Lynden Township will be conducting its spring cleanup day on May 16 from 8-11 a.m. at our Lynden Township Site 476 208th Street just south of the Lynden Township Hall. Please note, this is a different location than previous years. Open to all Lynden Township residents; you must be in line by 11 a.m. Only cash or check will be accepted as payment. One free pickup size load of garbage and/or recyclables is allowed per household (IDs will be checked) — other items such as tires and appliances are accepted for a fee (see below). Trailers with garbage/recycling material will be charged extra, so plan accordingly.
We have made changes to material accepted this year. We will no longer be accepting electronics, TV’s, e-waste, or scrap metal. Call Stearns County or visit the website below for information on where to bring these items.
After checking in, you will proceed to the garbage compactors and unload the refuse first. If you still have items to get rid of, you will proceed to the large dumpster. If there are any fees associated with your load, this is when we will collect it. Next we will unload appliances and tires into the dumpster. We recommend loading your load in the following order for ease of unloading; appliances, tires, and garbage on last.
Fees:
Pickup size load of garbage Free
Garbage load larger than pickup size $20
Passenger vehicle sized tires or smaller $5 each
Commercial vehicle tires $20 each
Large tractor tires $60 each
Appliances $15 each
No household garbage, TV/electronics, scrap metal,
shingles, paint, oil, concrete blocks, construction
material, or brush will be accepted.
Your electronics can be recycled at the Stearns County HHW Facility. Electronics will now be accepted full time during normal business hours for residents from Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, and Mille Lacs counties. For more information visit: https://www.stearnscountymn.gov/1866/Electronic-Recycling
The Stearns County Household Hazardous Waste Facility is available to accept unused household products that may be dangerous, toxic, or flammable, and that shouldn’t be placed in with your regular garbage. For more information visit:
